Ended February with a bang! Chairs for a salon, a baby changer for a nursery, and two dressers.
Month: February 2016
Dresser
Picked up this guy at a non planned garage sale find. What happened was the kids and I were on our way to go grocery shopping on a Saturday morning when my eldest son, Connor, spotted the “garage sale” signs (he is the best look out man I could ask for!). I was excited to see this one for sale and quickly purchase him. I had him up for customization, after about a week of staring at him in the shop I knew what I wanted to do, and being that no one had claimed him, I went ahead and finished him.
Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Snowbound, both glazed in brown and distressed. Original hardware updated in bronze. Stained the top in Dark Oak. He quickly found a home!
Waterfall Dresser
I love doing giveaways to show my appreciation! I thought this waterfall dresser would be the perfect giveaway for my social media accounts to say how thankful I am to have the support and encouragement from my followers, fans and clients – plus I have a soft spot for waterfalls. I was given this fellow from a follower of mine. It use to be her grandfathers. I refinished him in Sherwin-Williams Gale Force and stained the top and first drawer in Early American. I used a technique called ‘dry brushing’ the paint, Gale Force, lightly through the top to create a rustic look. Updated the original gold pulls to bronze. When I showed my client the new and approved Waterfall she had showed her dad the pictures. Right away he responded with purchasing it. He thought this old guy was too far gone form second chances. How could I say no to the man whose father used to use this dresser. He had memories of playing by it as a small boy. So my rustic waterfall went back home to write more pages in his book! Back to looking for another piece to giveaway.
Baby Changer
I had previously refinished a dresser and my girlfriend bought it for her baby’s nursery. She picked up this changer from a garage sale and wanted it to match the piece I had refinished. Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Tricorn Black. The drawer faces papered using a black and white stripped design. Finished off this look with antique porcelain white knobs.

Recent Highlights February
Three furniture pieces that I found for my clients, a French provincial dresser, nightstand and a desk. If there is a piece of furniture that you are looking for I can help. However it does take time to find that perfect piece! Lets not forget the old timing prune box my client had found in her family farmhouse! LOVE!

French Provincail Desk & Nightstand
Another piece I had found for a client. The desk and nightstand had come from a gal who grew up with these pieces. She and her sister loved these pieces. I mean loved by decorating with stickers, candle wax, crayon… everything and anything a child can do to their furniture! With some intense stripping and sanding I was able to give these beauties and Second Chance. Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Pacer White and glazed in Champagne. Replaced the hardware with a flower pull updated in the same Pacer White and Glaze Champagne.
French Provincial Dresser
This is a French provincial dresser that I had found and had it up for customization. A very lucky charmer chose her and wanted it done it glaze. One of my favorites! Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Pure White and heavily glazed in black. Original hardware pulls updated in Bronze. The top stained in Dark Oak.
