You know that terrible feeling where something you are hoping for is fantastic on the other side of the door, all you have to do is open it and walk through, but you’re scared to do so? Where the unknown variables outnumber the safe options that you understand. Taking chances, risks and jumpinging in head first for me is slow going. I have to ease my way into things, think about the outcome, make a plan and understand the possibilities- both good and bad.
If it’s both terrifying and amazing then you should most definitely pursue it

I have to work myself up to do the unknown. Sometimes just the simplest things for me can be a challenge. For example, I remember when I first tried glaze. I was completely scared that I was going to ruin a piece of furniture, but in the end I kept thinking to myself “if this goes horribly wrong what’s the worst that can happen? I can just repaint and start over! But… what of it goes completely amazing and I enjoyed it”. The possibilities.
Last week during Mass I heard Gods word of letting the things go you can not have control over and to have faith in Gods plans. That being afraid will only hinder a person. If I didn’t just try glazing who knows what Second Chance Charms would have become. I believe I am known for my glazing techniques. Which makes me stand out and helps give me my own name, my own style. I have been getting better about trying something new. Trying not to be afraid.
I have a list of things that I want to do with my refinishing business. One of them was opening a shop on Etsy and being able to ship Nationwide. This may sound silly to some, but I know there is at least one person out there who can relate to the stress of the new adventure in opening an Etsy Shop.
Sunday, I finally opened the door and walked through it. I left behind the control over something that is unknown and gave myself into Gods plan….
Perhaps it may become nothing…. but, what if it becomes everything!!!
You can find us over at Second Chance Charms Etsy Shop! I do hope you click on over and make us one of your favorite shops. If you are not located in sunny Arizona, no need to fret, we deliver Nationwide now!!!
It’s amazing how stepping through one door can lead to other doors waiting to be opened. How something so terrifying then, now seems so miniscule. I must remember that when turning the next doorknob.
