Coffee Table

The last piece of furniture I refinished for myself was my succulent garden, and I am not to sure that even counts as no paint was involved. Ha ha.

Before the succulent garden I did refinish a piece for myself, back in September of 2015 it was the hutch I inherited from my mother. I Refinished her in Ivoire and glazed in brown. To say I was up for a refinished piece is an understatement!

I have been staring at my coffee table for quite some time and couldn’t decide on what I wanted. I knew I wanted a stained top (I do love my wood grains) plus it would match the wooden feet on my wingback chairs.
Thursday, as I was picking up a new rug from Costco, it came to me on my color scheme for this piece. I should tie in the blue I have in the wingback chairs and pillows on the couch. As well as the blue from a little antique piece I refinished about 3 years ago that sits in the same room by the front door. Perfect little pop of color, and this coffee table is a perfect size to incorporate that same blue!

I had created this blue color I call Seafoam mixing Sherwin-Williams Riverway and Dover White together. Stained the top in Dark Oak and distressed the base of the coffee table.

One more piece to be refinished in my space and my living room will complete; an antique dresser being used as a tv entertainment stand. I do have a vision for that girl, something similar to the hutch. I can’t wait to start on her- hopefully before the new year!!!
What do you think of my space!? I find myself sitting here most evenings with my husband relaxing from our long days catching up, while our children wind down playing toys over in the family room. Our perfect space.

Retro Dining Set

A custom dining set! My client has many wonderful memories surrounding this retro piece of furniture. She sat here as a little girl and ate dinner with her family. Now she sits here as a women and mother who enjoys the company of her husband and children. Eating, laughing, gaming and relaxing. Like most pieces I refinished, they mean so much more to the owner then just a dining set.

Giving this dining set a Second Chance is a perfect touch for her space. All wood accents and table top were refinished in Sherwin-Williams Black Fox. All metal parts finished in nickel to coincide with her appliances and hardware in her kitchen.

Antique Chest of Drawers

I found this fellow and his sister together! I still have her over in In the Studio ready to be customized. I refinished this wonderful chest of drawers in Sherwin-Williams Sand Beach and glaze him in brown. Updated the hardware in bronze. Measurements are 37.5″ long x 51.5″ tall x 20.5″ deep. 5 drawers. This piece has some fantastic subtle details. Dovetailed joints. Cute simple feet. All one solid piece. He is up for sale!!! Signature Stamp

I am so excited to finally be able to mark my furniture pieces! I have been wanting to do this for some time! I have priced out wood burners, thought about stickers but finally settled on stamping!

I found Paper Afternoon on Instagram and fell in love!

If you have a piece of furniture and would love for me to come over and put the last final touch on your piece let me know!

First Day Of School 2016!

Like every parent, first day of school can be an emotional one. Watching our children move on to their next step in life can be joyous, bring on sadness or create nervousness in some. As for my husband and I, we experience a little of all. Watching our children become young adults is truly an amazing gift. Realizing how fast time goes by can become moving. I pray that we have taught our children what it is to be kind, helpful and bold to others and to themselves.

This year we have a third grader and a first grader and our youngest still at home with me. Like each year, I ask for your continued support and patience as I find a new schedule with my family and with Second Chance Charms. Prayers for wonderful 2016 school year to all our teachers, parents and children!
