Learning Tower Stool, Childs Table and an Antique Water Fall Dresser

One of my favorite clients, with whom I have had the pleasure of essentially refinishing every piece of furniture in her home as well as for her family members, recently asked me to add my personal touch to a few new and previously restored pieces. I had finished the kids’ table years ago, and given her expanding childcare business, it was the perfect time to revamp that same table. Both of us were genuinely impressed with how well it had lasted through the years of wear and tear, a testament to the quality of my work and the care she took in maintaining it. In addition to the table, she presented me with a delightful new piece to work on: a Learning Tower kitchen aid stool designed for those cute little helping hands eager to assist in the kitchen. It was a charming addition, perfect for encouraging her children to get involved in cooking and baking. The last piece I tackled was an antique dresser that I had previously refinished for her; this time, she wanted to change the color from a bright finish to a natural look. The original drawers stayed back at her place, as they complemented the stain beautifully.

For the transformations, I opted for Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black, which gave that classic and timeless appearance to both the kids’ table and the KitchenAid stool, while Reposed Grey brought a soft, elegant touch to the dresser, creating a stunning contrast that truly revitalized her space.

Vintage Wardorbe

Sherwin-Williams color Contented, a subtle yet stunning color, was perfect for giving my clients’ vintage wardrobe cabinet a fresh Second Chance. In choosing this hue, we were able to evoke a sense of tranquility and charm, which beautifully complements the cabinet’s classic design.

Keeping the top a natural wood stain not only highlights the natural beauty of the wood grain but also adds an element of warmth and authenticity to this piece. Revamping the metal extension hanger bar and matching it with the door hinges are fine details that enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the wardrobe. This careful attention to detail reflects a commitment to preserving the integrity of a family heirloom while ensuring it serves a practical purpose in modern life.

My client is thrilled with her revitalized wardrobe, knowing that it will continue to hold cherished memories and can be used for many years to come, blending the past with the present.

I absolutely love this color grey- it’s a beautiful masculine color that exudes sophistication and style, making it perfect for anyone looking to elevate their living space. Refinished in Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze, this piece showcases a deep, rich hue that is both modern and timeless, seamlessly blending with both contemporary and traditional decor. With these streamlined angles and straight edges, I felt compelled to ensure that the base and legs were the center of attention, drawing the eye and creating an impressive silhouette that commands presence in any room. Sanding them down meticulously and sealing them for a natural look was exactly what I envisioned; this process not only highlights the craftsmanship but also enhances the overall appeal, making it an exquisite addition to any decor that speaks to those who appreciate quality and elegance.

The combination of quality materials and thoughtful design speaks volumes about the artistry involved in creating this stunning furniture piece, providing not just functionality but a statement of style. Original knobs revamped in oil rubbed bronze for a masculine feel add the perfect finishing touch, ensuring that this piece isn’t just furniture; it’s a conversation starter and a testament to refined taste.

Hutch

Challenge accepted! My client wanted the outdated spindles removed as well as the bottom piece that connects the top of the hutch to said spindles. This was a significant design choice to modernize the look of the piece, as those spindles had long been out of style and detracted from its overall elegance.

With a little saw action, I carefully cut away the old sections, ensuring not to damage the integrity of the hutch itself. Following this, I used high-quality wood filler to smooth over the gaps left behind, which required a bit of patience and attention to detail. Once the filler dried, I sanded the entire surface to achieve a flawless finish. The result was so seamless that you could never tell such a thing existed before.

The transformation was completed with a stunning new coat of Sherwin-Williams Oakmoss green, a color that adds a touch of modern sophistication while still maintaining a warm, inviting feel. To further elevate the aesthetic, I added new gold handles that not only complement the green finish perfectly but also introduce a touch of elegance and a contemporary flair.

This gorgeous piece is now ready for her modern debut, sure to impress anyone who sees it. With its fresh look and thoughtful updates, this hutch perfectly balances vintage charm with a modern twist, making it a standout addition to my client’s home.
