Antique Tall Boy Dresser

This beautiful antique tall boy dresser is for sale, click on over to Shop Selections for details!

I got my hands on this stunning 1900’s antique dresser, sadly the original tiger wood faced drawers had seen better days. I ended up having to remove the old partly missing and very much chipped veneer and decided to give this beauty a true Second Chance! Changing directions from giving him a restoration I ended up wanting to see him in a green.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Oakmoss and heavily glazed in a dark brown slightly distressed in areas I saw fit for an aged look. Removing the original knobs and adding different pulls that I revamped in a Chestnut classed up this handsome fellow. I left his casters on, cleaned them up and refinished them in Chestnut as well for an overall makeover.

Antique Dining Chairs

Three more custom chairs finished! Two more to go.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Software and glazed in Cyberspace. My client picked out a cream and grey damask fabric from Joanns Fabric Store. Finally adding a dark grey cord to match and to finish them off!

Small Buffet

When a piece has been in the family for a long time and doesn’t match your decor, giving it a Second Chance is the perfect opportunity to make everyone fall in love all over again! My clients’ husband never cared for this piece, but he knew the importance of it to his wife. Today, I was able to make everyone happy with their family heirloom!

Refinished in Sherwin William’s Black Fox and glazed in Tricorn Black. Updated the hardware with these light grey and black knobs from Hobby Lobby.

Antique Folding Chair

I love this little folding chair! Even more so the story behind it. My client was out walking her pup and noticed a neighbor throwing this chair out into the trash. She stopped him and ask if she could have it. He replied with “it’s broken, are you sure?”…

“I have a girl who can fix it!” She tells him.

So here we are, fixed his leg and replaced the screws. Refinished him using Sherwin-Williams Black Fox and lightly distressing him. Added a new print fabric that my client picked out. She gave this fellow a second chance, literally saving him from the trash!

1914 White Beauty Hoosier Cabinet

This 1914 White Beauty Hoosier Cabinet has been in my clients family for over 100 years and has seen better days. They wanted this antique beauty to have some parts restored, like the flour sifter, hardware, metal spice holder, and side metal mounts. The original wood body to be refinished in white.

Before Pictures:

As I started to strip this gal I found 4 separate paint colors from throughout her life time. Not only was this paint extremely hard to remove but each layer was lead paint. Proper removal required the utmost safety precautions one must do. This gal took me a long time to complete.

Once the paint was removed she was looking rather good in her natural state! I replaced the backing on the top section as the original one had a few cracks and started to fall apart making her less sturdy.

The hardware was black and grimy, but once stripped, soaked and clean I found engraving marker’s and the original color to be nickel! The hinges and knobs were stained from time so I revamped them in nickel to give it a new fresh look.

Priming was the next step!

Once primed, I painted everything in Sherwin-Williams Greek Villa and did a light glaze using Sherwin-Williams Cadet, a soft blue grey to help tie in the porcelain enamel top. Finishing her off with adding nickel casters, like how she had before- once upon a time ago.

This project took time, patience and lots of stripper, sand paper and elbow grease. There was blood, sweat and tears, but we don’t need to go there. I am so happy with how she turned out and even more grateful to add her to my portfolio!

Buffet TV unit

My grandmother found this piece for sale at Goodwill for me, when I picked it up I fell in love with her serpentine lines and the solidness of this piece. We were looking for something new to place under our TV in the family room since we are renovating the house.

I asked my husband what color and style he wanted and he told me he wanted a sleek black on black look. So that’s what I did for him!

Refinished in a solid look using Sherwin-Williams Tricorn Black, stained the top in a brown. Revamped the original hardware in black.
