Nautical Themed Dresser

My client enjoys her vacation cruises, so much so that she buys a piece of art from her many travels on ship. She wanted her bedroom dresser to resemble her found memories, so Maureen Flanigan put her artistic touch on her dresser.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Forever Lilac and lightly distressed for a beach feel. Added new hardware from Hobby Lobby, jute wrapped metal pulls. Acrylic hand painted nautical themed by Maureen using a verity of colors.

Steamer Trunk with Victorian Arch Top

This steamer trunk belongs to my clients grandmother and has been past down the generations. She wanted to give her heirloom a makeover to match her home and style.

Refinishing the inside in a brown stain using Wood Classics Weathered Teak and sealing will keep the inside healthy for more years to come. I blended three colors for the body to create a bohemian technique. I used Sherwin-Williams Open Air, Lakeshore and Oceanside. Once completed I glazed her in a mixture of both Tricorn Black and Oceanside for a darker aged blue. Highlighting a few spots with Open Air on the base and Victorian Arch Top really popped this beauty out!

Dresser

I had this dresser up for customization and a returning client asked to have this piece replace the one she bought from me back in 2014. Her daughter will be 6 in a few weeks and is upgrading her room with more storage.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams DE color Swiss Coffee and distressed. Stained the top in Minwax Weathered Teak. Added new crystal knobs my client purchased.

End Tables

These end tables have a TV unit that will be posted soon and let me just say, this is an awesome living room set.

C O L O R!!! Stay tuned in as the TV stand will be the statement piece for my clients house.

End tables are refinished in Sherwin-Williams Tin Lizzie. Glazed in Tricorn Black to tie in her dark dreamy kitchen. Updated the hardware using white distressed grey knobs from Hobby Lobby.

Antique Folding Chair

I love this little folding chair! Even more so the story behind it. My client was out walking her pup and noticed a neighbor throwing this chair out into the trash. She stopped him and ask if she could have it. He replied with “it’s broken, are you sure?”…

“I have a girl who can fix it!” She tells him.

So here we are, fixed his leg and replaced the screws. Refinished him using Sherwin-Williams Black Fox and lightly distressing him. Added a new print fabric that my client picked out. She gave this fellow a second chance, literally saving him from the trash!

Display Cabinet

We lost count on the number of pieces I have done for this client, not to mention for her parents and her friends. Word of mouth is the best compliment you can give! When a neighbor, friend or family member is visiting your home and states they love your *insert piece of furniture* and you have nothing but wonderful things to say about your Second Chance Charms piece- I seriously am on Cloud Nine.

Over 90% of my clientele are referrals and the things they tell me, you say about working with me, or how your expectations were reached and then some, I smile from ear to ear and tears fill my eyes. I can not express how touched I am that you love something that I created with my hands, heart and soul. I am YOUR biggest fan!!! Thank you!!!

We are finally getting to my lovely clients Display Cabinet in her house of Second Chance Charms. I can’t help but laugh- when she called me she said “I want to go blue”. There was a short pause on the line. She HATES blue. Of course she assured me that the blue she is going for is Frank Sinatra blue. I love her ideas and her colorful home.

Refinished in a custom color mix by me using three different shades of Sherwin-Williams blues, I will call it ‘Frank Sinatra Blue’. Glazed in Brown and hardware revamped in champagne bronze.
