Dresser and Mirror

Monday I posted the Master Bedroom Nightstands, next are the matching dresser and mirror. Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Pure White and lightly distressed. The top stained in a lighter gray. Followed by having the original hardware revamped in Nickel. Replacing the middle door hardware with knobs and revamping them to match.

Master Bedroom Nightstands

My client and her husband bought this bedroom set when they got married many years ago. Ready for an updated look they chose to have their bedroom set refinished in Sherwin-Williams Pure White and lightly distressed. The tops of the pieces stained in a lighter gray. Followed by having the original hardware revamped in Nickel. Stay tuned in as I will share the matching dresser and mirror!

Before:

DIY vintage doll house

Make your own vintage doll house! Bookshelf + Legs + Paint/Paper = Doll House!

I found a small wooden bookshelf at a garage sale for $5 bucks. My client picked out small little legs from Home-depot to give this little piece flair. I added a few wall dividers and added paint. My client wants to add wall paper and little furniture so her grand-daughter can play with her dolls.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Dover White and slightly distressed.

8 Drawer Dresser

Continuing with the custom master bedroom transformation from traditional style into farmhouse chic, today I am sharing with you the dresser. Yesterdays post of the His and Her Nightstands was a complete success on all media sites over at Second Chance Charms Instagram & Facebook page.

Refinished in Sherwin Williams Reflection and lightly distressed. Replaced knobs with some very adorable white distressed knobs and pulls from Hobby Lobby that my clients picked out.

His and Her Nightstands

And to think my client was on the verge of getting rid of these pieces to buy something… dare I say it…. NEW! When she sent me pictures of her master suite furniture pieces for a quote I fell in love right away. How could I not? Look at the curves of the legs, the front bow of each piece. And not to mention the sturdiness of everything, you can tell in the photos these items were heavy-duty and well made.

I am in absolute love over this custom bedroom set that I have been working on these past two weeks. Stay tuned in as you will see a master suite traditional style bedroom set transform into a farmhouse chic style! First I will be sharing the nightstands.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Reflection with a light distressed finish. Added new white chippy knobs from Hobby Lobby. These gals are officially farmhouse chic!

Before picture. When removing the exsiting knobs I filled in the gaping holes they left behind and created new spots for the knobs my client picked out.

Filing Cabinet

“It doesn’t even look like the same piece of furniture. Bringing oak into the future”. I love these type of responses from my customers!

My client wanted to update their home office in a bold color. Using their trusty old filing cabinet and giving him a makeover is the perfect piece for a second chance.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Real Red and lightly distressed.

Cinderella heirloom chest

A heirloom antique 1800’s chest by Helmers Furniture. Talk about Second Chances! I’m so thrilled to share the back story about this vintage tall chest. Appreciated enough to be passed down to family members throughout the generations but literally never truly loved enough to be accepted which always resulted in hiding this gal in the closet.

When she finally found her way into the hands of my client she too had her hiding in the guest room closet. That is until her eyes had opened to the possibilities of taking one ugly piece of furniture and creating a swan. I refinished a piece for this client back in January, Navy Armoire, and when she came to pick her piece up she already knew her family heirloom was going to be next.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Dover White and slightly distressed on the edges. Added a gorgeous stenciled art that my client picked out painted in gold on one door- the side that has no knob. I also added a small stenciled art on the top to tie it all in. She picked out miss-matching knobs in white and gold to showcase this gals new artsy look. Completing this Cinderella story by lining all the drawers in a white and gold paper. From the bottom of her legs to the top of her rail she can now come out of hiding from the dusty closet and be the princess she deserves to be out in the open!

Day Bed Frame

We all love getting certain hand-me-downs! My customer received this day bed from her late mothers estate and wanted to do something special with it. Her mother had once painted this piece in a teal crackle and yellow base with brown glaze many years ago.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams White Flour and lightly distressed. The detailed middle design glazed in black for a nice POP! Simple, Sweet and Sleek!
