Boutique Room

If you have been in my home, you will know where my boutique room is located. I believe that this random spot in my home is supposed to be a dining area. However, it’s completely on the other side of the house away from the kitchen. So completely not functional.

Enclosing this area and making it a den is perfect for anyone who will need an office/playroom or for me, a boutique room to store my inventory pieces and staging area! With two openings entering this room; one hallway area and a huge arch doorway. I had a few ideas. I wanted to enclosed the hallway area providing shelves for storage and add barn doors to close off the room when not in use.

Here is the new wall we added (with the help of my amazing father). This view is from the family room.

Here is the boutique room with the barn doors that I refinished myself. I am in the mist of making shelves in the space where we built the wall to match the barn doors. These shelves will house my portfolios, cards, staging decor and the likes. Everything is almost complete!

Looking from our living room when you enter our home, you can see the barn doors. They are a gorgeous focal point and I have had many compliments this far. It took me years to find these doors. I found them from craigslist and I wanted a certain style of doors. Where I have the arch on my opening, I wanted my doors to have that same thing on top. These doors were once front doors to a huge home in Scottsdale. I had to cut them down to fit. I bought the barn door hardware from Amazon. Walls are painted in Sherwin William’s Gossamer Vail.

I’ve waited so long to have this space done and its exactly how I envisioned it. Better, actually.

What do you think of my little happy space dedicated to Second Chance Charms?

While I don’t build exciting things- I can finish them in a professional finish for you! That’s exactly what my client had me do. Her husband and a family friend built two baby gates and a farmhouse table and bench for their new home. Click here to see the gates that we finished for her a couple weeks ago: Baby Gates.

Antique China Cabinet

I was so excited to find this antique china cabinet. I love unique pieces and want to be able to refinish more of them. I have a hard time finding them on the west side of Arizona.

I went to Pinterest to find inspirational photos to give me an idea of what I wanted to do. At one point I was toying with the idea to go bright and bold, but caved when I thought of a two toned look for this gal.

This gorgeous curio cabinet has curved glass and a backsplash beveled mirror. Carved lion claw feet with original casters. Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Amazing Grey and glazed in a dark grey glaze to pop out all those fantastic details. Inside has three removable display shelves that are refinished in Sherwin-Williams Greek Villa. All original casters and knob are revamped in Nickel.

She is available for purchase please click over to Shop Selections to view details.

Before and after photos. This poor gal came to me with a broken foot and a missing glass door. Looking at the final photos, would you never be able to guess that. Love how she turned out!

Rocking Chair

This vintage rocking chair belonged to my clients husbands’ late father. Keeping this rocking chair with it’s lovely memories and stories needed to be refinished to match my clients home decor. Now this beauty can keeping rocking many more memories but look fabulous while doing so!

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Tricorn Black with a slight distressed look to bring out the gorgeous wood tones underneath.

Buffet

I am in love with the curves of this piece! I found her a few months back during one of my garage sale days and put her up over In the Studio for customization. A returning client of mine purchased her and wanted this buffet console to match a dining table and chairs I did for her back in 2014.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Greek Villa and glazed in Turkish Coffee. All hardware cleaned and kept original for that added sparkle. The top had been stained in Minwax Early American.
