Piano

I have my first piano in the books! I am not only excited about adding this type of furniture to my portfolio, but really happy my client wanted her piece to be glazed, giving this antique girl a sense of timeless glam. All the curves, grooves and details are highlighted now, where once they were hidden.

The back story of this family heirloom is beautiful in itself. My clients grandmother was given this piano at the age of three years old. Many years of practice, hard work and enjoyment were given to her. After her recent passing this grandmother wanted her piano to go to her granddaughter who is five years old. My clients daughter picked out the fabric and Mom picked out the color.

As you enter my clients home this gorgeous piano will be welcoming you underneath a lovely chandelier.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Serious Gray. Glazed in Tricorn Black. All original hardware revamped in Oil Rubbed Bronze. Bench reupholstered in my clients choice of vibrant fabric.

Heirloom Quality Coffee Table by Weiman

Sticking with a bright color for that POP in her home, my client wanted this distressed coffee table to be glazed. You can really see the difference between the two styles with the before picture comparison.

Todd Reifers Signature Workstation

It’s not a secret that my mother is an artist specialising in oil painting on canvas. You can read all about my amazing mother on my blog post: Maureen.

A while back my mother had bought a Todd Reifers Signature Workstation for her Art Room. So when Maureen came to me and said she needs her station to have her daughter’s Second Chance Charms artistic touch, I was ecstatic! She is such an inspiration!

My mother basically gave me free range and I quote “Two toned, maybe a beige and white, and definitely glazed. Surprise me I know I will love it!”… I wanted to see a heavy glaze on her piece, especially with the doors and those pop outs. I used Sherwin-Williams Portico for the base. Glazed the body in both Van Dyke Brown and Turkish Coffee. Keeping some areas highlighted in Portico for that pop of contrast. Revamped all the knobs, metal signature plate, metal on the leather strap and casters in Oil Rubbed Bronze. The before picture really illustrates the difference between the Before and After reveal! “Even castles in the sky can do with a fresh coat of paint”- Haruki Murakami

Curio Cabinet

This piece has been in my clients family for well over 100 years. They even restored this lovely gem at one point. Ready for a change and entrusting me with the task I was excited to get my little hands on her!

I had just completed refinishing my clients daughters TV entertainment unit and hutch when they realized what paint and glaze can do to a piece of furniture.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Westhighland White. Glazed in Turish Coffee brown to pop out her details. Stained the top in Dark Walnut. Revamped the original hardware, key included, in oil rubbed bronze. Lovely!

Antique Buffet- 100th Piece YTD

I am so excited to finally get to my 100th piece of refinished furniture year to date! This year I have had the pleasure to refinish many huge pieces that had anywhere from three upwards to six individual sections to create one gorgeous piece of furniture. Naturally I didn’t include those individual items, but rather counted each piece as a whole.

Browsing through my Portfolio I can’t help but be smitten from all the lovely creations- most of them client own pieces. Not only did I pour my sweat, heart and soul in each one; creating the image that each client had for their particular piece has always been a rewarding adventure.

Without further adieu let me introduce to you my 100th piece of furniture for 2017!!! An antique buffet my client has brought to Arizona from Denver. Back in her day this gal had tall legs, they were cut down about forty years ago so this piece could be used as a chest. But before the sensation swept the nation with using amazing statement pieces for Tv Entertainment Units, my clients family did just that and has many memories with this piece throughout the years. After my clients mother’s’ passing, she inherited her old friend and had Second Chance Charms refinish her so she could match her home decor and style. Wonderful past memories and making future ones to come- this gal gets to keep going looking better than ever!

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Whirlpool for a soothing pop of color. Glazed in Well-Bred Brown to show off all the glorious details this gal has to offer. Stained her lovely top in Dark Walnut for some originality. finished her off with cleaning up her hardware and keeping the original pitia as much as possible.

Tv Entertainment Unit

Oh how I have missed the keys of my computer. This morning I sat down drinking my pumpkin spice coffee enjoying the gorgeous cool morning Arizona breeze on my patio, I realized that I have not posted in 12 days.

That doesn’t mean that I wasn’t working- oh how I am excited to share with you some new pieces that were transformed! Most of my time was taken up by a massive Tv Entertainment Unit for a client.

After a horrible house fire, my client was able to save some of her items. Now that her house is being rebuilt she figured now was the perfect time to start fresh with her style and decor. Here is a before picture of her unit!

This unit was too big to fit in my studio for staging. So I waited patiently on pins and needles today waiting for photos from my client to share! I did my best taking some in my home to share, but it just wasn’t the same. I finally got her photos and I am sharing now! Oh my heart! I’m so in love!

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Snowbound and glazed in Well-Bred Brown. Took out the glass doors and added chicken wire for a Farmhouse Chic look. Revamped all original hardware and chicken wire in Oil Rubbed Bronze.

Dining Table

I have refinished a couple dining tables that is this style; a sleek and simple design. To give something depth when there is none, especially on the legs of this piece, distressing and or glazing is always a great way to give definition.

Refinished the base and legs of this dining table in Dunn Edwards Pebble Walk and glazed in a dark brown. The top is finished in Sherwin Williams Rockweed.
