One solid massive piece that I needed help moving around to refinish. Once I took off the doors and removed the shelves it lighten the load a little but still a heavy piece!
My client had her colors picked out when she dropped her hutch off and knew exactly what she wanted. Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Software and glazed in Cyberspace. Original hardware revamped in Black. Simple. Gorgeous.
Next up for this client is her dining table. You recall the buffet, hutch and chairs? I still have 2 more chairs to complete but at least I feel like we are getting somewhere with her dining area makeover! Slowly but surely!
This gorgeous set has two leafs that was also refinished, but wasn’t set up when we took pictures in her home. This table was too massive for me to move into my studio for staging, but seeing it all together with the other pieces in my clients home made me smile nonetheless!
Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Software and glazed in Cyberspace. The top is stained in Minwax Weathered Teak.
Ever take on a project and you feel like your client has more faith in you, then you do towards your own limits? Talk about stress. I KNEW I could, it was just… NEW territory. Which is scary, nervracking and completely intimidating.
My client has an old gorgeous dining set that was past down from her mother. I saw the potential, don’t get me wrong! But the question for me was, “how in the hell am I going to do this?”.
She gave me one of her chairs and said, I want to see what you can do. This transformation is by far one of my favorites. Perhaps its because I literally shed tears, blood and sweat working on it. The reward was greatly satisfying.
Before
My clients chair had the wicker back which completely dated it. However, her bones were glorious!
I first started out by removing the wicker from the backing. We didn’t want it, we wanted a cushion to replace that area. I sanded it back and cut out wood that would replace this area.
Primed, painted and glazed. I could do this in my sleep. It wasn’t until the reupholstering and the ‘How’ of it all that had me questioning my abilities.
Back of chair. Fabric tightly pulled over the new wood section. Seat cushion reupholstering. I always remove the old. Love starting fresh!Doing each step helped me remain calm and had me realize how this was all going to work out
Next, I added batting on the back (where your back will relax at). I pulled the fabric over and started stapling like a crazy women. Finalizing the edge with cord gives a professional appearance.
Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Software and Glazed in Cyberspace. Matching the buffet I recently finished. My client picked out a cream and grey damask fabric from Joanns. A dark grey cord to match and to finish her off!
Family heirlooms are my favorite! My client was ready to make her mothers drop leaf server into something beautiful that would match her style. She has a kitchen table, chairs, hutch to match and we started with the buffet first!
Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Software and glazed in Cyberspace. The top is stained using Wood Classics Weathered Teak. We added new hardware that my client purchased, Crystal Knobs matched with silver plates. Ohhh la la!!!
