Rocking Chair

This vintage rocking chair belonged to my clients husbands’ late father. Keeping this rocking chair with it’s lovely memories and stories needed to be refinished to match my clients home decor. Now this beauty can keeping rocking many more memories but look fabulous while doing so!

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Tricorn Black with a slight distressed look to bring out the gorgeous wood tones underneath.

Todd Reifers Signature Workstation

It’s not a secret that my mother is an artist specialising in oil painting on canvas. You can read all about my amazing mother on my blog post: Maureen.

A while back my mother had bought a Todd Reifers Signature Workstation for her Art Room. So when Maureen came to me and said she needs her station to have her daughter’s Second Chance Charms artistic touch, I was ecstatic! She is such an inspiration!

My mother basically gave me free range and I quote “Two toned, maybe a beige and white, and definitely glazed. Surprise me I know I will love it!”… I wanted to see a heavy glaze on her piece, especially with the doors and those pop outs. I used Sherwin-Williams Portico for the base. Glazed the body in both Van Dyke Brown and Turkish Coffee. Keeping some areas highlighted in Portico for that pop of contrast. Revamped all the knobs, metal signature plate, metal on the leather strap and casters in Oil Rubbed Bronze. Buffet

I am in love with the curves of this piece! I found her a few months back during one of my garage sale days and put her up over In the Studio for customization. A returning client of mine purchased her and wanted this buffet console to match a dining table and chairs I did for her back in 2014.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Greek Villa and glazed in Turkish Coffee. All hardware cleaned and kept original for that added sparkle. The top had been stained in Minwax Early American.

Curio Cabinet

This transformation rocks, my clients were over the original finish and plain look of this piece. They wanted change!

This curio cabinet has been revamped in a solid finish using Sherwin-Williams Snowbound and added iron pipe hardware. I also added brackets on the corners of the piece for more character. There are glass shelves for the inside of this piece that my clients held onto. I cant wait to see how she decorates her curio cabinet.

I was able to get two inventory pieces in over at Shop Selections and, I got busy with some amazing client pieces! Lets take a quick peak at what was completed!

So much COLOR!!! I am completely over the moon with all these beautiful pieces! I love growing my portfolio- Its the next best thing to not being able to KEEP all of them! Thank you for allowing me to give a Second Chance to these forgotten Charms.

Be happy about what you have.

Be excited about what you want.

How many of you can relate by having a Goal Check List? We believe it to be a great thing~ healthy even! If you don’t do it, this 2018 New Year is a perfect time to start doing so! My husband and I will write down the things we want to accomplish for the year: Personal goals. Our family goals. Household upgrades. etc. Once you write down these “goals”, it makes it easier to work towards them. When you check your goal off your list the feeling of accomplishment is wonderful and you are ready to gear up for the next thing to tackle!

One of my goals for Second Chance Charms is to have a Shop Renovation! This took time but well worth it in the end! Before my garage was a chaotic mess that I was not only consistently embarrassed by when clients would come over to Drop off/ Pick up their pieces, but the lack of organization was nerve-racking during the refinishing process.

A few of the items on my check list for this Shop Renovation were:

  • Cabinets- Let face it I needed storage for all of my supplies.
  • Sink- As crazy as that sounds Yes. I have completely ruined my sink in my house. You bet your bottom Kitchen Renovation is on my 2018 List 😉
  • Electrical outlets and lighting- My garage has ONE outlet for me to use. I have dealt with this craziness for five years. Enough. And of course LIGHTING is key!

Here are a few of the progress pictures I have. There are few things that need to be done- but all cosmetic. I can finally work in a safe, organized, happy environment!

Plumbing for a sink!
Electrical work for more outlets! (My father and my youngest, Emmett)

Follow Second Chance Charms (Behind The Scenes) Furniture to see more pictures of my Helper/ Boss Emmett 😉

Drywalled the sink area as well as cleaned out the space for all the cabinets!

I would still like to paint the ceiling- Yes my OCD doesn’t only reflect on my furniture pieces but as well as in my life all around!

Here is a final photo of what I have going on today- I still have lighting to install in the ceiling as well as finish up the outlets on the right side of the wall. Nevertheless, I am still so excited to share this with you!
