Recent Highlights October

I forgot to share my most recent projects! Which one was your favorite? Five inventory pieces sold within hours of posting on Facebook! And two beautiful custom pieces were refinished. If you missed out on any of these debuts you can always read all about them, here on the Blog!

TV Entertainment Unit

There is a number of reasons why I love refinishing and restoring family heirlooms, hand-me-down furniture and grandpa’s builds. One reason, these pieces have significant meaning to my clients. Memories of the family get togethers around a dining table, a daughter inheriting her beloved mothers bedroom set after passing or simply a piece that someone in the family built by hand. You entrust me with these special pieces and I am absoutley honor to give them a Second Chance!

I have done a bedroom set for this client a couple years back and she finally got her hands on her aunts TV entertainment unit and wanted a fresh look.

This huge massive Tv Entertainment Unit has a top as well that I couldn’t put up by myself, nor place this entire four piece set in my staging area for a true picture. Nonetheless, I am completely over the moon with how she turned out!

Refinished in multiple different coats of Sher-Wood Dark Oak and a custom Grey stain. We added black rustic metal half moon pulls for an updated look, taking off glass doors and bottom doors for a more modern open concept.

Right now I am working on the matching armoire to the dresser and nightstand bedroom set shown here. Along with a couple more custom pieces and one inventory piece! Stay tuned in!

Antique Cabinet

This lovely antique cabinet came all the way from California for a Second Chance! Once belonging to my clients mother she finally wanted to give her a new look. Over time this piece started to have its wear and tear, as you can see in the before pictures, and needed some help!

Taking off the fabric backdrop and old veneer was a start! Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Indigo Batik and glazed in brown. My client has the glass door fronts at home as well as the glass shelves. I can’t wait to see what it looks like in her space!

Decor Items

Occasionly clients will ask me to refinish little décor pieces, this current client came to me to have a bathroom shelf refinished as well as some hardware that she’s putting on a dresser. I love her idea of what she wanted for the hardware keeping the handle pulls original but the backing in a custom navy blue color. Shelf refinished in a blue color match and updating the knob with a white and gold feather. Matching an armoire that I refinished some time ago. Before:

Two Hutch End Pieces

My client had these for quite some time and needed a change. Not only wanted to keep them due to their well built sturdiness, but the character these pieces have. I absolutely love the front glass window like panes.

Refinished in a solid finish in Sherwin-Williams Pure White. New updated hardware and hinges give a softer feel to this piece from the original rustic ones from before.

Tv Entertainment Unit

Remember the Hutch End Pieces that were completed back on January 11th? This piece is the section that goes in the middle of those two pieces! I can not wait to get a photo from my client on how this turned out all together!

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Paperwhite and lightly distressed. Original hardware revamped in bronze. What is special about this piece is that it use to be an armoire. To give this old set a more modern feel my client’s husband hacked off the top! Creating only a base with no limit for television size plus she can add decor on the wall behind if she choose too. I added a shelf inside to hold my clients’ husbands receivers, consoles etc. (Those boys seem to have so many “things” that are must haves!). Popped a hole in the back for wires.

Bookcase

A bookcase that was built by my clients father when he was younger was brought in for a Second Chance. She wanted the backdrop to pop against the white and to have it match the bed frame and dresser I refinished for her back in 2015.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Dover White. The backing is Sherwin-Williams Black Fox and Glazed in Tricorn Black.
