Antique Secretary Desk

This little antique secretary desk belonged to my clients grandfather. She had fond memories of him sitting there doing his work when she was a child. My client aquired this desk some years ago and wanted to have it match with her master bedroom furniture.

Using this piece for a vanity she decided it needed to be a lovely artistic statement. Family heirlooms are my favorite!

My client matched her colors using Behr Paints color swatches and I had Sherwin-Williams color match those swatches in the products that I use. Refinished in Gem Silica, Honey Tea and Roasted Squash. The original hardware revamped in Oil Rubbed Bronze. I refinished the inside of the desk in Gem Silica for a surprise POP of color. Using Honey Tea and Roasted Squash I did a blunt blending in a horizontal line that matches her bedroom furniture. Distressed the entire piece to help give a finish blend as well as tie this piece in with the other pieces this little lovie will be sharing space with.

Rustic Wooden Desk

When grandpa builds a desk, you know it was done right! My clients grandfather built this desk over 40 years ago. When my client got her hands on it she brought this gem to me to be given a new look!

Refinished in Sher-Wood Dark Oak stain. She wanted a rustic technique done on this desk for her farmhouse charmed home, and that’s exactly what I did. Original pulls revamped in Bronze keeping this fellow original in honor of her grandfather.

I needed color in my life, and I needed it fast! With summer at an end and school has begun I still think about our vacation to California and the gorgeous beaches. Using the ocean as an inspiration I wanted to do something special with one of my inventory pieces.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Honeycomb, Freshwater and Rainstorm using a blending technique. Glazed in black for a deep vintage look. Original hardware revamped in gold and glazed in black.

Craft Desk

One of the first things I ask of my clients who reach out to me about refinishing a piece of furniture for them is “send me your inspirational photos!”. I LOVE that you love my work and want my style in you home but I also want to know what LOOK you are trying to achieve. Visual aids help us both! So I received a few pictures from a client wanting to do what she saw on Pinterest (who among us has not?!).

Here is her inspirational photo of what she wanted accomplished:

She received this table for FREE from a fellow refinisher and friend of mine. We cut the table in half to get started! I have been wanting to do one of these for quite some time! My client will use brackets to attach the back end of the table to her wall.

Refinished in a custom color that matches a hutch she had finished. A creamy white. Stained the top in a Dark Walnut.

Three-Piece Computer Desk

We can’t help but look around for a piece of furniture that is not only beneficial to what we need to use it for but stylish in every way to complete our space. Our homes reflect who we are. It says a little something about you to your guest.

As my client shopped around looking for that perfect piece to complete her husbands home office they keep finding themselves saying something that I hear all too often, “everything seems expensive and cheaply made now-a-days”. When they went home defeated they looked at what they already had and realized two things: Not only did they pay good money many years ago for their current piece of furniture, but its solid wood made to last. This is where I come in! It’s cheaper to have something you already own, refinished to match your decor. Especially when you find yourself moving into a new home, such as my client is, and changing up the theme, colors and decor.

Heavy duty, solid wood, three-piece computer desk and hutch shelves refinished in Sherwin-Williams Agreeable Gray and glazed in Well-Bred Brown. We replaced the hardware with bronzed pull handles making this piece more modern. Up next is a huge veneer desk top that will go into this same office space. Using the same colors but with a different technique.
