Summer Loving to School Studying

I took this summer off to be with my family, I enjoyed myself so much! We had a wild ride which started off with our middle son making his First Communion and Confirmation in his faith, a family trip to Del Mar Beach visiting California friends, my husbands Bowling Tournaments in Las Vegas, a visit from my In Laws from Texas, kid sleep overs, swimming parties, a visit from my sweet nephews from Oklahoma, and all around fun with friends, family and neighbors. We were so busy that when school started I didn’t know where the summer went- it went by way to fast!? Anyone else feel me?

I did however, have one project that I worked on- so I wasn’t completely off. haha. This custom piece was the most difficult project I have taken on thus far. Only because I was dealing with lead paint…many layers… more on that gal later 😉

School is in session and we are back to schedule! Even if it is 115 degrees outside! All my babes are in school full time! My preschooler is now in Kindergarten and I am all yours! AHHHH *Joyful screaming* watch out world, it’s about to go down!!

Stay tuned in! I have August customs and new inventory selections coming your way!

Recent Highlights April

Love all of these colors!! Most recent projects!

“Emmett, what are you doing with my paint stirrers?”

“I’m a king, and these are my swords!”

I’ve been busy playing and enjoying my last few weeks with my half day Preschooler before the Summer Loven goes full blast. August he starts Kindergarten, full day, and life as I know it will undoubtedly change. I will have all three boys in school and an empty house. Talk about excitment and sadness!!

The good thing for you, is I will be able to schedule more jobs and really set off on Second Chance Charms. The past 7 years has been wonderful! I have all of you to thank for that!! You have allowed me to be a stay at home mother while helping pay a bill or two. Thank you!

Home Remodeling

I seriously don’t even know where to start with this blog post. I want to show you what I have been working on and the big changes we have made, but like all good things, it takes time to get everything perfect. The major work is completed, and all that is left is decorating, furnishing and fine tuning.

With that being said, I’ll show you some before photos and after photos of our home renovation!

Here are a few photos of the process. Let me just say, I am so thrilled to be at the point we are now. A few times it was hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

When you take a look at the after you will see we replaced the flooring with Wood Tile from Emser, the Mokuzai collection: Color Daku. Added quartz countertops by Daltile, Cinder Storm. Installed and painted new baseboards. Painted the walls in Sherwin-Williams Useful Grey. Painted the ceiling. Refinished the kitchen cabinets in Sherwin-Williams Hide White. Kitchen island painted in Sherwin-Williams Black Fox. Added kitchen hardware. Added ivory subway tiles backsplash by Pure with white groute. Along with a new deep sink, I of course treated myself to a new faucet!

As the process went underway in the house, I refinished a few of my own pieces to have them coincide with our new color scheme. My little coffee bar area is one of my favorite spots!

The front family room, and backpack wall got it’s own makeover as well. We are still furnishing it. We took the previous couch to the dump, but on the back wall to the left my hutch sits there and got a facelift as well.

We just finished painting the stairwell and half bath. Downstairs is almost complete and once everything is how it should be I will share more photos. We still want to change out the fans and replace the kitchen lighting with different pendants.

Vanity

Bright, bold and blingy! My client received this piece for FREE from an old neighbor. She had it for many years and was ready for a change.

Refinishing this gal in a solid look using Sherwin-Williams Lechmere. My client found back plates online and wanted them revamped in a Copper Rose. Adding some blingy knobs finished this gal up! The secret small drawer I painted in Copper Rose for a fun surprise!

The huge round mirror didn’t need to be refinished and will be installed when I deliver this girl!

Buffet TV unit

My grandmother found this piece for sale at Goodwill for me, when I picked it up I fell in love with her serpentine lines and the solidness of this piece. We were looking for something new to place under our TV in the family room since we are renovating the house.

I asked my husband what color and style he wanted and he told me he wanted a sleek black on black look. So that’s what I did for him!

Refinished in a solid look using Sherwin-Williams Tricorn Black, stained the top in a brown. Revamped the original hardware in black.

Dresser

Alright! Last dresser for my clients room! This dresser is a completely different style and make. She received it from a family member and it works for them. Painting it to match, and adding the same hardware is going to make it look like its part of the set!

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Dovetail and Reposed Grey. Glazed in Black Fox. New hardware from Hobby Lobby and revamped in Nickel and glazed in Black. Yes please!!

Dresser

Absolutely love how this bedroom set is turning out! Do you recall the nightstands and bedframe I refinished a few weeks back? I have two huge dressers to refinish to complete my clients master bedroom suite.

Refinished in Sherwin-Williams Dovetail and Reposed Gray. Glazed using Black Fox. New hardware purchase from Hobby Lobby and revamped in nickel and black glaze for an added bling.
